Booked an amazing holiday to Maui for a week and then a cruise around the hawaiian islands. We stopped off at Los Angeles en route and had a night there before heading for Maui where we have booked a condo right on the beach. John had rented a car and we went round the island and saw all there was to see . Enjoyed a luau on the beach where they bury the pig in the sand and it cooks over several hours - it ends up so tender it makes your mouth water just waiting for it. We the headed for the cruise ship and ended up stopping at so many different islands where we got off the ship and explored for a few hours .Then when we got back onboard we went back to the room and had a sneaky drink - we took a bottle of gin onboard with us which we later found out to be against the rules! When we got back to the port we rushed off the ship to see if we could manage to see Pearl Harbout before we caught the plane back to London . We just about managed it with about 20 mins to spare - nothing like leaving it to the last minute.John was so interested in the war and actually seeing the warships in various states and then seeing the memorial showing all the people who had lost their lives was sad,especially when he found a John Dowsett listed. By the time we got on the plane home , we were both pretty tired and were grateful for the sleep on the plane. Amazing trip from start to finish Love you sweet John xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
