We first met Lana in Sept 2008 in Florida where she lived and we were holidaying.We had 'met' online on a doll forum , both of us being collectors. It is always a bit worrying when you meet someone online and then go on to meet 'in the flesh' so we were both a bit wary. There was absolutely no reason for our fears as we hit it off from the second we met - like we had known each other for years. So every time we flew out to Florida , Lana would visit us for a day or 2 and it was so nice as John really liked her as well which made it so much easier for us all. We used to regulary go shopping for our hobby and John was happy to follow us as he knew that anytime soon, we would stop for a drink or lunch. If Lana and I were happy , then he was too! After a while we didn't feel the need to go shopping every time so spent time at the house just chilling out either by the pool or inside in the cool. We all felt so comfortable in each others company. Lana moved out of state but her visits still happened - then recently she moved back to within 30/40 mins of us and so that was perfect - close enough for even a quick evening visit after work. I am so thankful that Lana visited us before John was taken so she had a chance to say 'hello' before having to say 'goodbye' To be honest I don't know what I would have done if Lana hadn't been there when I lost my lovely John. She drove me to the airport to pick mum up on the Friday as the thought of driving on my own just 3 days after John passed away made me physically sick. And then when the funeral home in Florida was allocated by the repatriation company , it turned out to be some 90 miles away - without a second of thought ,Lana said she would take mum and me to see John. Words aren't enough to thankyou Lana. I so treasure our friendship Lana - you know how much John and I love you xxxx
