For many years we had wanted to go to Italy , especially the lakes so we thought 'go for it' when we found a fantastic offer online for less than a couple of weeks later. Usual rush to get things washed and packed together with everyday 'things' meant we were there before we could blink. When we arrived the hotel was perfect , overlooking the lake and very close to the 'boat stop' The ferries took us all around the huge lake and we hopped off at some of the various villages that had little markets and speciality shops. Had some amazing authentic italian lunches - John loved his italian food so he was alwasy a happy bunny. One day we decided we would drive the long journey to Verona to see the sites there - it took ages to get there but it was well worth it seeing the outdoor theatre and the quaint shops. We had lunch and then decided to drive back as not too sure of our way and wanted to get back for dinner at the hotel. Made it in plenty of time for dinner , even managed a small cocktail down the road first - lovely! Always said we'd go back one day to one of the other lakes but never managed it In our dreams John , maybe? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
