In July this year we went with mum and dad to the Isle of Wight - every year for the past 3 years we had booked up to stay at various Warners hotels. The weather was glorious and we spent the week either driving to new places or just relaxing on loungers overlooking the sea and the boats. John loved it as he hadn't been there for decades - much the same for mum, dad and me. John didn't have much concept of time and so for weeks before, he would ask how long it was before we went. One day mum and I said we would get coffees and took our lovely men back a pitcher of Pimms and food from the bbq that the hotel had set up on the terrace. So naughty but so nice. John took a shine to the lovely Polish waitress who would make a fuss of him as he was having problems standing up at times and I think he probably milked it a bit as she was a very pretty young lady and he enjoyed the attention! When we flew to Florida on our last tragic trip , mum and dad were planning on rebooking for next July for the 4 of us as we had all had such a lovely time. But within a week I had lost my lovely John in the blink of an eye and thousands of miles away from home. I still cannot believe it John , I miss you so much it hurts - I would do ANYTHING to have just one more day with you. xxxxxxxxxx
