We first met Sue and John in Crete in 2002 when we had booked on a catamaran for the day. A taxi was booked to pick us up outside the hotel and whilst we were waiting we found ourselves next to another couple. They looked a friendly couple and I asked if they were going on the same trip. It wasn't long before we were chatting like we had known them for years and it turned out we only lived four miles away from their home in Billericay. That chance meeting started our wonderful friendship that continues today. We have been fortunate to visit their holiday homes in Florida which comes with its own stories which Sue still remembers and reminds me whenever we meet. We have so enjoyed Sue and John's company over the years both when visiting them or their visits to us at Hotel Wickford for the 'all day breakfasts' . Sue will always be welcome here, the door is 'open all hours' . John was a true gent and great fun to be with, he had a dry sense of humour and always spoke his mind most of which Elizabeth and I agreed. I looked forward to the lively banter he was a real character with old fashioned values. We have lost a true friend. John & Elizabeth Greenaway
